The three and four-bedroom properties have been built on the former Fitton Hill Secondary Modern School site in Rosary Road.

The homes are available for shared ownership and social rent, with FCHO saying some shared ownership properties remain available.

They form the first phase of a development being delivered by FCHO and Vistry Group which is due to provide 101 affordable homes by the end of 2027.

FCHO executive director of corporate services and deputy chief executive Andy Ewart said: “These new family properties are now on our books and available for the people of Oldham to make their new home.

“It shows FCHO is doing all it can in partnership with Vistry and Oldham Council to address the urgent need for these types of homes in areas where people want to live. We are also building a new community at Fitton Hill as more homes are built. If families are interested in being part of that community then some shared ownership homes are still available.”

FCHO said Fitton Hill is its largest development to date by number of properties and its second largest by cost, behind the £20 million West Vale project in Coldhurst.

Matthew Parkes, managing director of Vistry Manchester and Cheshire East, said: “Fitton Hill is a strong example of what can be achieved through effective partnership working, with Vistry set to deliver more than 100 affordable family homes on behalf of First Choice Homes Oldham.

“By combining FCHO’s local insight and commitment to affordable housing with Vistry’s delivery expertise, we are helping to bring forward high-quality, sustainable homes that will make a real difference for families in Oldham.”

Work has started on the remaining 72 homes in the second phase of the Rosary Road development.

FCHO said the properties will include green features intended to help reduce household bills, with completion scheduled for the end of 2027.
