The deal includes an option for a further year.

Nisbet is the only Oldham player to have started every game for the club this year and has scored 13 tries during the 2026 season.

The former St Helens academy player joined Oldham from Queensland Cup side Townsville Blackhawks and has played on the wing, at centre and full-back this year.

Nisbet said: "I've chosen to stay on and I'm looking forward to it.

"You can expect the same enthusiasm and the same amount of hard work. Hopefully we can keep building on what we're doing this year.

"Playing under Alan Kilshaw is different to how I was coached last year – it's a bit more of an aggressive coaching style and that suits me and how I play.

"We're still building. We’re still miles away from what we want to be and the squad we’re building for next year, I think, is going to be just as good as this year, if not better."

Oldham head coach Alan Kilshaw said Nisbet's versatility and durability had been important to the side this season.

He said: "Tom has been a really important part of what we’ve done this season and his versatility has been a huge asset to us.

"He’s shown his quality in all three positions he’s played, adapted really well to whatever role we’ve asked him to take on and, importantly, he’s been incredibly durable, playing in every game this season.

"He’s a player who brings a really good standard to the group and someone we know we can rely on week in, week out.

"He also has a great habit of challenging the coaching staff in most training sessions and games — sometimes probably a little more than we’d like! — but that competitive edge is part of what makes Tom the player he is.

"We’re delighted to have him committed to the club and looking forward to seeing him continue to develop and contribute over the coming seasons."

Nisbet first played for Oldham on loan from St Helens in 2021 and was sent off for a high tackle on his debut.

He has also played for Leigh, Widnes and Rochdale.

Speaking about his approach on the pitch, Nisbet said: "I’ve still got that edge to me.

"I think I’ve calmed down a little bit – I’ve not had a red card this year, touch wood.

"I’m very passionate on the field – away from the field I’m actually a very relaxed guy but I’m a completely different bloke on it."
