The programme includes local, national and international musicians, with concerts starting at 1pm and lasting around 50 minutes.

The season opens with wind quintet Lumas Winds, winners of the 71st Royal Over-Seas League Mixed Ensemble Prize and Kirckman Concert Society Artists.

Greater Manchester musicians make up a quarter of the programme, according to Manchester Midday Music.

The Scott Brothers Duo and A4 Brass will return, while Stockport pianist Callum McLachlan will make his first appearance in the series. He was named as a 2026 artist by the Young Classical Artists Trust.

Trio Kagura, whose members met while studying in Manchester, will also perform.

Pianist Hyung-Ki Joo will appear in December as part of The Bridgewater Hall's 30th anniversary season.

Three recipients of the Terence Judd-Hallé Award will perform during the season. Tom Borrow, who received the award in 2023, will appear in September, followed by 2025 winner Julius Asal in February 2027 and this year's winner Lukas Sternath in March.

Dutch cellist and singer Hadewych van Gent will perform as part of Manchester Midday Music's International Women's Day programme on 8 May 2027.

Other performers during the season include singer Joanna Harries with pianist Aleksandra Myslek, violinist Esther Yang and violinist Mabelle Young-Eun Park.

Catherine Webb, chair of Manchester Midday Music's board of trustees, said: "I am delighted with the new concert series. We have been presenting lunchtime concerts since 1915 - an incredible legacy and contribution to Manchester’s cultural life.

"This season features a wonderful mix of artists, some of whom are just starting out on their musical careers. I am incredibly proud that we continue to support young artists and give them, quite literally, an amazing platform at The Bridgewater Hall to demonstrate their talent."

A new Coffee Club will also be introduced for the 2026 season, allowing audience members to meet in The Bridgewater Hall foyer cafe before concerts.

Ms Webb said the club was intended to provide a place for people attending alone or wanting to meet other classical music fans.

Student tickets start from £5 when bought in person from The Bridgewater Hall box office. Online and telephone bookings are subject to a £3.25 booking fee per ticket.
