Oldham and  Glossop Mountain Rescue Teams moved in on Sunday after North West Ambulance Service requested assistance with the location and evacuation of the female with a lower leg injury.

Said an OMRT spokesperson:

"The female was swiftly located and, with the help of the local farmer, we were able to get a vehicle very close by.

“She was then treated by NWAS paramedics and evacuated on OMRTs stretcher to the waiting ambulance.“

Eleven OMRT and 15 GMRT personnel were involved for just under three hours.
