Like many others, POINT have battled through the Covid-19 pandemic to keep their services operational.
Despite spiralling remote working costs and lack of fundraising opportunities the charity has managed to carry on giving vital support, advice and information to families and all of the team at POINT have risen above and beyond to ensure families are supported.
If anything, the pandemic has seen a rise in the support needed from this local charity.
Unfortunately, during the last year the charity has suffered two upsetting incidents.
During the first pandemic lockdown there was an attempted burglary at their head office premises in Chadderton.
Luckily, the damage and costs to the charity were minimal.
They were not so lucky in March of this year.
This time the individuals entered the property, caused significant damage and stole equipment.
That was a devastating blow for all the staff, and of course POINT CEO Andrew Robinson.
POINT’s faith has been restored, however, because as soon as a local resident heard about the burglary, they contacted Andrew to offer a donation of CCTV and additional security measures to the charity to ensure their security was increased - as well as their confidence.
Videcon Ltd donated the equipment, then contacted fellow local business Mono Fire and Security, who when they heard what had happened immediately offered complimentary installation of the security equipment free of charge.
Andrew said: “We cannot thank Videcon and Mono enough for their support at this time.
"It is really humbling that, in times of extreme challenges for businesses, they have so generously given this support."
