Several Year 6 pupils, with the help of computing leader Mr James Finn and computing teacher Mr Reddy Lenge, storyboarded, wrote, acted, shot and edited a thought-provoking short film about fake news, particularly misinformation about Covid-19, entitled 'Think Before You Click'.
School Vice Principal Tim Roach said: "In this most difficult of years, when school has been turned upside down for the second year running, it’s fantastic that these Year 6 children have something to celebrate before leaving Greenacres.
"Their enthusiasm and maturity come through in the way they approached creating this film.
"The recognition they have achieved, and the special mention by the judges, is truly deserved.”
During the judging process, Jim Filippatos, VP Global Public Policy at Walt Disney, said how close Greenacres' film was to getting first place, and he made special mention of how the children had worked as a team:
He told them: “You worked together, showing great enthusiasm, energy, creativity and artistry."
