The Barry Shaw-Allan Golf Day at Saddleworth took place to celebrate the life of the club’s former President.
Special thanks were given to Phil Bennett and Gavin Mather, the event organisers who spent countless hours caring for Barry and raising money for the Christie Cancer charity.
The day was a huge success with 72 members and non-members playing in the event.
The format of the competition was a Four Person Texas Scramble and the day was won by the powerful Saddleworth team of Nick Kerin, Mr Captain Tony Isaacs, Phil Ramsker and Martin Orme.
Another top event at Saddleworth was the Lindrick pro am whay was won by the fab four of Mike Grainger, Mike Keaney, Dave Fox and professional Alex Belt.
A BB Stableford at Saddleworth needed a cpo on 47 to see Jonathan Hobday and Daz Neary into top spot fron Peter Butterworth and Ross Sutton, one more than Bryn Parfitt and Mike Jackson.
Another BB Stableford was won by Will Potts and Lee Melia with 45 from Ian Bennett and Peter Durrans and Michael Farrimond and Martin Orme.
A Team Shotgun at Saddleworth was led in by Phil Sheerin, Ultan McGovern, Nick Marner and Dean McKenna with 102, six clear of Andrew Stott, Michael Taylor, Nigel Hughes and Terry Welsh.
Also celebrating for a hole in one at the second was Denise Brown.
Crompton and Royton’s men played for Eddie Hopkinson Salver and the delighted winner was Toby Nuttall with 36, two clear of Philip Leonard and David Weldon, with Alan Hopkinson junior next in with 33.
