Freddie will take on the sponsored hike with his family on Saturday 19 September and has already passed his original £500 fundraising target.

Freddie decided to raise money after wanting to help people affected by homelessness.

He said: “It makes me sad to see homeless people and I wanted to help in any way I could.”

Freddie and his family recently visited Emmaus Mossley's residential community, which can accommodate up to 26 people.

The charity provides accommodation and tailored support for people who have experienced homelessness, including opportunities to develop skills and work experience.

Money from Freddie's fundraiser will be used towards improvements to the charity's community building and living areas.

Darren, one of the residents supported by Emmaus, said: “Freddie’s support is an outstanding piece of generosity. The money raised will go towards our building and living areas which need some TLC.

“A huge thanks to our little super-hero and all who support his fundraiser for Emmaus.”

Freddie initially aimed to raise £500 and passed that target within four days. He has now increased his target to £1,000.

Ant Hopkinson, chief executive officer at Emmaus Mossley, said: “We are very grateful to Freddie and his family for taking on this fundraising challenge. The sponsorship funds will have a direct impact on the people who live here and are supported by Emmaus Mossley.

“Freddie’s Snowdon challenge is inspiration for everyone – showing how an act of kindness can have a meaningful impact and help people rebuild lives after homelessness.”

Emmaus Mossley will mark its 30th anniversary in 2027.
