First Choice Homes Oldham organised the event with Oldham Council and community group OL1 on 21 August.
The litter and fly-tipping pick was supported by council road sweepers, while around 120 residents were given information about disposing of rubbish and keeping the estate clean.
First Choice Homes Oldham, known as FCHO, provided food for people taking part at its community centre on the estate.
Mahdlo Youth Zone's Scran Van, which is part-funded by FCHO, also attended and provided meals for local children.
FCHO neighbourhood lead Ben Collier said: “We want families to feel part of their community and take pride in where they live and the day was a fantastic example of partnership in action to help achieve that aim.
“FCHO believes it's everyone's responsibility to help look after the area they live in and there is a litter and fly-tipping issue on the Barker Street estate we want to tackle with the help of residents and other groups.
“During the day we took the opportunity to speak with residents - many of them our customers - about how to dispose of their rubbish in better ways, while encouraging people to get involved and bring the community together to play their part in shaping where they live.”
Residents were also given advice about anti-social behaviour and FCHO's new Respect Line, which customers can use to contact the housing association about ASB in their communities.
