The free Wild Lives exhibition features acrylic, oil and mixed media works based on animals she has observed and photographed at zoos and wildlife parks.
Bardsley is a self-taught artist who has previously displayed her work in solo and group exhibitions and public art trails around the UK.
Her new exhibition includes paintings based on encounters with animals at conservation-focused zoos and wildlife parks.
A number of endangered species feature in the collection, with Bardsley using her work to encourage interest in wildlife and conservation.
She said: “Animals are my greatest inspiration because they all have their own personalities. I love capturing those little moments that make people stop, smile and see an animal in a different way.
“Every painting starts with a real encounter, whether it’s a curious look, a cheeky expression or a moment that makes me laugh. Those are the moments I want to share with people.”
Bardsley is also vice chair of The Friends of Gallery Oldham and helps organise GO! Artists – Oldham Art Fair.
She and her partner also volunteer by running a community board game group at Royton Library.
Wild Lives opens with an event at Gallery Oldham from 2pm to 4pm on Saturday 5 September, when visitors will be able to meet the artist.
The exhibition and opening event are free to attend.
